The most frequently asked question I receive is…. well … what does a health coach do?
Most of us already know that we should be eating whole foods and moving our bodies, right? I mean, the internet is practically overflowing with the next “perfect diet” and “calorie-burning exercise routine” you MUST do in order to achieve optimal health.
With so much information at our finger tips, what’s the point of working with a one-on-one coach?
Well here’s a little secret…
What the internet/media isn’t tell you is this: getting healthy is NOT solely about the food you eat or learning the “perfect” workout routine.
Nope, not at all.
If sticking to a specific meal and workout plan was the key to optimal health… don’t you think we would be seeing improvements in our society’s overall health by now? We believe that the “calories in/calories out” method is our ticket to health freedom, but time and time again, we have been shown how broken this system can really be.
Chronic health and autoimmune conditions are on the rise. The majority of us are walking around like tired zombies, and it’s not getting better. What GIVES?
Of course nutrition and movement are importance pieces of the healing process, but these factors alone only cover the surface in holistic healing. And THAT is where a coach comes in and can make all the difference.
Working with a coach
When you make the choice to work with a coach, you’re making the commitment to heal all aspects of your life. Mind, body, and spirit.
A coach is an expert in habit change. Most of us know WHAT what we should be doing, the problem is… HOW do we get there?
Your mindset and subconscious beliefs plays a huge role in this department.
In coaching, you will learn how to recognize the negative self-talk that’s holding you back from achieving your goals and how you can start reversing it. You learn to get curious about old beliefs and past stories that have been keeping you stuck and how to question and challenge them.
A big part of my 4-month program is exploring the ways chronic stress and overwhelm are negatively impacting your health. Stress reduction is KEY to wellness. From breathing techniques to yoga poses — you will learn what works for YOU in restoring balance and a sense of calm back to the body.
With our busy lives and crazy work schedules, our bodies are calling for some much needed peace… and scientifically speaking (with hormones and all that jazz ;)) your body needs stress reduction in order to function!
Gut and hormone balance
Coaching will teach you the importance of gut health and hormone balance and WHY healing these imbalances is crucial so you feel your absolute best.
By exploring your relationship to food, learning about nourishing supplements, and modifying a few routines… you will learn how get to the root of your symptoms. Together, we will work to clear out the toxins and begin replenishing the body from the inside-out.
But most importantly, you will learn how to strengthen your connection to YOU.
You’ll discover the holistic practices that not only connect you to yourself, but to the Universal energy that serves us all. In coaching, you will be introduced to new tools and resources that guide you towards this connection.
Reiki, crystals, tarot cards, meditation, or journaling … the list goes on. I’ll help you find the practices that speak to you!
